Recovery of deeply-discharged ‘dead’ batteries:
Unlike other brands, the Victron Energy Blue Smart IP65 Charger will attempt to recharge a deeply-discharged battery by force-feeding it with a low current. Normal charging will then be resumed as soon as there is sufficient voltage across the battery terminals.
Connect the battery with ease:
The charger comes with both crocodile clips and M8 eyelets – making it easy to connect to the battery. If you wish, you can leave it permanently connected.
Ultra high efficiency “green” battery charger: With up to 95% efficiency, these chargers generate up to four timeless heat when compared to the industry standard. And once the battery is fully charged, power consumption reduces to 0,5 Watt, some five to ten times better than the industry standard.
Reconditioning: A lead-acid battery that has been insufficiently charged or has been left discharged during days or weeks will deteriorate due to sulfa-tion. If caught in time, sulfation can sometimes be partially reversed by charging the battery with low current up to a higher voltage.
Recovery function for fully discharged batteries: Most reverse polarity protected chargers will not recognize, and therefore not recharge a battery which has been discharged to zero or nearly zero Volts. The Blue Smart Charger however will attempt to recharge a fully discharged battery with low current and resume normal charging once sufficient voltage has developed across the battery terminals.

The Victron Energy VEICMP-12/2000/80-32A MultiPlus is a combined inverter and charger in one elegant package. Its many features include a true sine wave inverter, adaptive charging, hybrid PowerAssist technology, plus multiple system integration features.
Unique PowerAssist feature:
The Victron Energy MultiPlus will prevent overload of a limited AC source, such as a generator or shore power connection. First, battery charging will automatically be reduced when otherwise an overload would occur. The second level will boost the output of a generator or shore side supply with power taken from the battery.
Uninterrupted AC power (UPS function):
In the event of a grid failure, or when shore or generator power is disconnected, the inverter within the Multi is automatically activated and takes over the supply to the connected loads. The PowerAssist feature will enable the unit to supplement the alternative source. The unit will compensate for supply from the battery at times of insufficient power and when no longer required, the excess power will be used for charging. It is therefore no longer necessary to size a generator on the maximum peak load. Use the most efficient size generator instead.
The advanced ‘adaptive charge’ software fine-tunes the three-stage automatic process to suit the battery condition and how the battery is being used, preventing damage and ensuring less maintenance is required. A fourth stage charge [also called the Storage mode] delivers a longer period of float charging. In addition, the Multiplus will charge a second battery using an independent trickle charge output.
Should there be a grid failure the UPS capability of the inverter is automatically activated. With some units having the ability to enable 6 Multis operating in parallel there is potentially close to uninterrupted and unlimited power.
If three phase power is required, then multiple units can be connected in parallel and configured with the combinations delivering up to 75KW/90 kVA inverter and more than 2000 Amps charging capacity.
