Victron Energy BMV-712 Black Smart 6.5-70VDC Smart Black Precision Battery Panel Monitor Display with Midpoint Monitoring BAM030712200R
Victron BMV-712 Black Smart Battery Monitor, you can rely on precise tracking of your battery’s remaining capacity. This advanced battery monitor considers variables like ampere-hours consumed, discharge current, temperature, and battery age. Its software algorithms work out these complexities to provide detailed information not just on voltage, current, and ampere-hours consumed, but also on state of charge, time-to-go, and power consumption in Watts. Moreover, the BMV-712 adds an extra input to measure a second battery’s voltage, temperature, or midpoint voltage.
Simple Installation Process
Installing the Victron Energy BMV-712 is as simple as it gets. All electrical connections link to the quick connect PCB on the current shunt, which connects to the monitor with a standard RJ12 telephone cable. The package includes a 10m RJ 12 cable and a 2m battery cable with fuse. No additional components needed! The package also comes with a separate front bezel for a square or round display, a rear mounting securing ring, and screws for front mounting.
Effortless Programming with Your Smartphone
Setting up the BMV-712 is a breeze, thanks to its quick install menu and detailed setup menu with scrolling texts. For an even simpler solution, you can download our smartphone app and manage settings from there.
Midpoint Voltage Monitoring
Previously a feature of large, industrial battery banks, midpoint voltage monitoring is now accessible and affordable with the BMV-712. This feature is essential for monitoring any battery bank as it alerts you to any deviations that can point to a problem with your battery. Following an alarm for midpoint voltage deviation can save your expensive battery from severe damage. Consult the BMV manual for more detailed information.

Easy to install
All electrical connections are to the quick connect PCB on the current shunt. The shunt connects to the monitor with a standard RJ12 telephone cable. Included: RJ 12 cable (10 m) and battery cable with fuse (2 m); no other components needed.
Also included are a separate front bezel for a square or round display appearance, a securing ring for rear mounting and screws for front mounting.
Midpoint voltage monitoring
One bad cell or one bad battery can destroy a large, expensive battery bank. When batteries are connected in series, a timely warning can be generated by measuring the midpoint voltage. Please see the BMV manual, section 5.2, for more information.
Very low current draw from the battery
Current consumption: 0,7Ah per month (1mA) @12V and 0,6Ah per month (0,8mA) @ 24V
Especially Li-ion batteries have virtually no capacity left when discharged until low voltage shutdown.
After shutdown due to low cell voltage, the capacity reserve of a Li-ion battery is approximately 1Ah per 100Ah battery capacity. The battery will be damaged if the remaining capacity reserve is drawn from the battery. A residual current of 10mA for example may damage a 200Ah battery if the system is left in discharged state during more than 8 days.
Bi-stable alarm relay
Prevents increased current draw in case of an alarm.
